Hybrid volunteering offers a meaningful way to serve through both virtual support and onsite engagement. At APMI, hybrid volunteers play an important role in strengthening programs, supporting communities, and advancing initiatives in peacebuilding, empowerment, and service. It is a flexible yet purposeful way to make a difference across both digital and community spaces.
How It Works
A volunteer may be assigned remote responsibilities for planning, coordination, research, writing, communications, documentation, or digital support, and may also be asked to participate in onsite activities when the organization requires physical presence. The setup will depend on the nature of the assignment, the goals of the activity, and the volunteer’s availability.
Hybrid volunteer roles may be open to individuals who are at least 18 years old and are willing to contribute both online and, when needed, in person.
These roles are suitable for applicants who are responsible, communicative, adaptable, and able to work in both virtual and community-based settings.
Some roles may be open to students, young professionals, advocates, creatives, researchers, organizers, and community-minded individuals, while others may require more specific skills or relevant experience.
Although hybrid volunteers perform part of their service remotely, there may be times when onsite presence is needed.
This may include orientation sessions, trainings, planning meetings, advocacy events, field support, community visits, deployment-related activities, or other approved organizational functions.
Onsite participation should be communicated in advance whenever possible, and volunteers are expected to confirm their availability and readiness before attending.
Applications may be reviewed based on qualifications, availability, interests, location, and the needs of the assignment.
Selected applicants may then be contacted for screening, orientation, onboarding, or further coordination.
