Volunteer for International Engagement is an opportunity to serve with purpose in spaces that connect communities, institutions, and shared goals across borders. Through these experiences, volunteers can help strengthen partnerships, support meaningful programs, and contribute to a wider movement for peace, development, and positive change.
Volunteer for International Engagement gives individuals the opportunity to support APMI in selected international activities, partner-led initiatives, learning exchanges, conferences, forums, and community-based engagements abroad. These opportunities allow volunteers to contribute their time, skills, and service in spaces that extend beyond local work while still advancing APMI’s mission of peacebuilding, empowerment, humanitarian action, and sustainable development.
At APMI, international engagement is not only about travel. It is about meaningful participation, cross-cultural learning, global solidarity, and representing values of service, peace, and cooperation across different settings. Volunteers may assist in the preparation, coordination, documentation, communications, logistics, and delivery of approved international activities conducted with partner organizations and institutions.
APMI may open opportunities for international engagement based on its programs, approved partnerships, invitations, or collaborative activities with institutions and organizations abroad. Interested volunteers may be invited to apply or be considered based on the nature of the role, qualifications, availability, and readiness for the assignment.
Selected volunteers may support preparations before the activity, assist during the actual engagement, and contribute to follow-up work after the activity is completed. Some opportunities may involve travel abroad, while others may include international collaboration, coordination, or support linked to overseas activities.
These opportunities may be open to volunteers who are at least 18 years old, adaptable, professional, and able to represent the organization responsibly in diverse environments.
Depending on the assignment, APMI may look for individuals with strengths in coordination, communication, documentation, leadership, cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and service.
Some roles may require prior volunteer experience, a valid passport, travel readiness, or other assignment-specific qualifications depending on the activity and partner requirements.
Depending on the activity and assignment, volunteers for international engagement may support:
coordination and logistical preparation for international activities
documentation, note-taking, and report writing
communications and content support
participant assistance and volunteer coordination
event, forum, or conference support
community-based or partner-led activity assistance
program representation support, where appropriate
follow-up, visibility, and post-activity documentation
The specific role of each volunteer will depend on the nature of the assignment, the needs of the activity, and the guidance of APMI and its partner institutions.
